ooops!

Did you intend to make a racist remark and upset all us English, or
was that just down to fingers operating without brain in gear ?

In every stereotype there are those that are the embodiement of it.

And I didn't know that being English was being in a separate race! But
that about says it! Many Brits feel a sense of superiority to the point
where they even think that they are a totally separate race! Not a mix
of Celts, Norsemen, Normans, Anglos, Saxons . . . . plus!

But I'd rather be an Anglophile than a Francophile any day of the week!

I would rather see people stand up and take action against the morons
asking for rights for terrorists, the terrorists that would kill the
people seeking to help them get rights, if they were able too.

Why is it that every time someone talks about respecting rights of /people/
(his, mine, and, yes, your rights!) and the principle of "innocent until
proven guilty", someone throws some terrorist FUD around?
Why are you not demanding justice for the victims of terrorists?

There is a difference between vengeance and justice. The importance of
human rights is one issue, atrocities committed by terrorists are another
issue. They are not really related.
Where was the due process for all the people, all over the world, killed
by terrorists?

Of course there was no due process. The difference between terrorism and
justice is due process. Either you provide it -- and are no terrorist -- or
you don't -- and you are a terrorist.

So if you want to deny people accused of terrorism due process, you become
at that very instant a terrorist yourself. Where does that leave your
justification for doing what you want to do?
Ask yourself this - would you want them freed if they were going to be
released into your local community and possibly living next door to you?

Ask yourself this: Would you want to be released (or get the right to "due
process") if you were locked up without due process? What guarantees you
that this won't happen to you if it can happen to some people?

Of course we, the English are a separate race. We live in a separate
country called England, ditto the Scots and the Welsh.

What race did you think we were? Inuit ?

White.

There are no Brits that are of the Indian race?
And saying 'separate race! Not a mix of Celts, Norsemen, Normans,
Anglos, Saxons . . . . plus!' is totally specious.

To you maybe. But each of those groups have distinct genetics
qualities.
Every race in the
world is a mix of genes.

Eventually we'll be of one race, if we survive long enough. One big
Melting Pot!
We all in the end are just variations of the
Homo Habilis that walked out of Africa 7 million years ago . Separate
races develope by developing unique gene pools, and by assimilating
unique sets of external genes.

And thanks to the shrinking of national and geographical borders due to
modern means of travel, we are becoming one race.

Brits are not a part of one race yet though, thanks to your former
far-flung empire, there are many races inhabiting the British Isles.

Those that get upset
over mere words, in my opinion, are the ones with the problem!

Just so you know, even though you didn't post this to me, I don't
actually get upset or bothered by people being rude, it's a fact of
Usenet and nature.

How come you didn't answer my question?
Ask yourself this: Would you want to be released (or get the right to "due

If I were locked up for the same reasons, I would want, guilty or not,
to be released. Now if you ask me, as a third-party, if I was
participating in a group activity that was got me thrown into gitmo, if
I expected any reason for mercy or legal representation, then I would
say no.

I've been in a number of countries where the residents hated Americans,
all Americans, without consideration for any individual, and even been
harassed and threatened just for being a white male that appeared to be
American. I give my government the benefit of doubt in the case of
terrorists, they can do what they want to them anywhere in the world and
I don't have any problem with it.

Considering you think it fine and dandy that MS assumes that their paying
customers should be considered thieves until they prove otherwise, your
being for locking people up without legal counsel, bail or charges comes as
no surprise. Got your brown shirt hanging in the closet?

You are so full of it! If you were forcibly taken from your country by
another country, for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, you'd
want the Rangers parashooting in to save your lame ass.

First they came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me -
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

That you needed to go out of your way to state that it doesn't bother
you, would suggest that it does, at the very least, on a subconscious

Actually, I find it amusing that the ones doing it make excuses for it,
and that they can't find anything other than "because I want to and it's
my right" as a justification. It's interesting to watch people,
sometimes interacting with them, just to see how they react and what
motivates them. You are actually one of my favorite ones to watch this
way.

Although Catholics might be considered terrorists in history and some
countries, it's a far leap to lump them in the same boat as
terrorists/insurgents detained in gitmo and other locations.

Bush is a terrorist that uses WMDs. How come you're not calling out for his
detention without legal counsel, charges or bail?

Dude, you are a fascist. You are incapable of understanding the meaning
of the story. About keeping silent when a gov't starts taking away
people outside of the law.

But then again, you think that liberals should be GITMOized. I really
feel sorry for you that you are such a intolerant human being.

I consider Americans terrorists. They deal with the Saudi's who
contribute to the Terrorists. They invade other countries without
sufficient proof such as IRAQ. Why? Because they are an Oil hungry
nation. Americans shoot first, ask questions after. They also killed
many Brits soldiers which they try and hide. The American government is
a bunch of brain washing fools. They duped almost everybody about IRAQ.
They actually wanted to go to War with IRAQ before targeting Afghanistan
after the WTC incident.

Do you read the newspaper in Canada? If you do then you will know that half
of the people in this country did not vote for Bush, so please do not
characterize all Americans as imperialists, and I wont assume all Canadians
love snowmobiles, beer and hockey. Eh?

And I am one of them.

Well, I hope next time, a lot more than half will not vote for Laura or Jeb
.... and the dems put up someone that doesn't put you to sleep when he or she

I live in Spain and hear a lot of opinions regarding Americans from many
different nationalities, including arabs and 99% of them understand that.
They know Bush stole both elections and is a complete blooming right wing
religious fundie megalomaniacal idiot and hope, like I do, that the American
public will stand up for freedom and democracy and vote him out next time.

Because I agree with the entire action in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I
also agree with not giving any rights to terrorists - sometimes you have
to do what's not politically correct to protect your country.
