Windows mail could not be started

Gary,
Many folks want to have a mial program on their machine. "Upgrading"
to WindowsLive is not only not an option, but no help whatsoever. Quit
pushing WindowsLive as a wolution. Our Windows Mail is broken and we are all
getting the same error. We want it fixed and we don't want to join the Borg.

I just reinstalled my Comodo AV. In order to get to install, I wiped a
few registry keys and may have damaged Windows Mail in the process. I think
this error has to do with the registry. Nothing substantial here to help us,
so I will move to the next of many threads. Hopefully they aren't all adds
for WindowsLive.

If you wish to tolerate the problems with Windows Mail, stay with it.
But there's been no updates to Windows Mail in the past 2.5 years since it
was
released with Vista.
It's been deprecated in favor of the newer Windows Live Mail program.
That's how MSFT "fixed" it.

You obviously have a wrong impression of what Windows Live Mail is.
If you want, you can use it just like Windows Mail, without any web-awareness.

The problem is Microsoft's need to confuse. They call their software Live
when it has no more life than other software. They call their forums social
when there are no social forums. They call things wizards that are stupid. I
am still confused about the differences of COM and ActiveX.

Perhaps the problem with Microsoft is like IBM in that marketing is stronger
than technical people. The marketing people need to confuse people about the
truth. Technical people such as us are much more likely to tell the truth.

To be fair, Windows Live Mail does have the option to be quite
web-aware or 'Live'. That applies to such features as syncing contacts
and calendar, and the Photo E-mail feature.

These people are correct, these fixes do not work, I have deleted my anti
virus, even though it has been running with windows mail fine for a year and
a half, and I have deleted the mail through the registry key, amazingly, it
keeps coming back , and I still get this same email message. The ideas given
here do NOT work, I have found you giving this same answer on other sites,
and you are just plain wrong. Does anyone their know why this is giving this
message and how to fix it?

Please start your own new thread and tell us exactly what your problem is?

Please provide all unedited error messages.

Include the name of your ISP and the part of your email address ONLY that is
beyond the @.

I don't recall reading your detailed problem statement or providing
you with a custom response. For you to assume that responses given
to others somehow apply to your specific issue is unwarranted.
My track record at providing appropriate fixes is pretty good.

have never had any problems with Windows Mail until now. Thanks!!!!!!
