I received this after my computer locked up when trying to open up windows Mail
"Windows Mail could not be started, initialize junk filtering. Your computer
may be out of memory or your disk is full. (0x80070002)"
After closing that error out I get
"Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized.

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them cause assorted
problems
in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

Also, do you have the Google Toolbar, also known to cause problems in
Windows
Mail?

Most of the Norton antivirus programs cause assorted problems in
Windows Mail, although it often takes months for the problems to
appear. To stop them from causing these problems, you need to
uninstall them, not just disable them. You then often need to run this
cleanup program to take care of what the uninstall left behind:

You may even need to remove your email account under Windows
Mail, then restart Windows Mail and create the account again.

Most versions of the McAfee antivirus program and a recent version
of the Trend antivirus program also cause problems in Windows
Mail, so they are not good replacements. For a better replacement,
I recommend either avast! or AVG, either one with a custom install
that tells it to leave out the part that scans email.

Windows Live Mail is one of the easier to switch to:

http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

It will handle any accounts Windows Mail will, in addition to some HTTP
accounts such as Hotmail that Windows Mail won't handle.

If you want to ask about Windows Live Mail, you'll get faster answers
in newsgroup:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

I thank everone for there help I guess when I started looking I sould have
dug deeper in the post I found what did it for me here it is.
"If that did nothing then I don't know what else you can do except maybe
delete all the registry entries for WinMail. The junk filter info is in the
registry and that might have been corrupted.

Go to Start | Search and type regedit. Then choose continue to allow it and
then read the help file.

Then go to this registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail

and right click it and choose Export to back it up.

Then make sure WinMail is closed and right click on the key again and choose
Delete.

Then try starting Winmail."

Thanks again

This was great. I was getting the same error message, couldn't get to my
email for days.

I did something slightly different though. Instead of deleting the whole
winMail folder in regedit, I only deleted the subfolder called "Junk Mail".
Winmail started perfectly first time.

We can't help unless you provide more details. Do you get an error message?
If so, right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without that complete error message.
