Remote Access ****Bennett

I am reposting this chat since I didn't get a response:

The info at the website below got me a little further, but I am still not
connected. Now I get a pop up window with a yellow warning that says "A
Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the DNS name of
the remote computer could not be resolved." I couldn't find anything in the
website about that particular error. Any advice?

I have used Remote Assistant a couple of times successfully so I know the
basics. However, recently I have been trying to link up with my father's
computer using the e-mail invitation approach (we both have Dells with
Windows XP Home Edition). However, when I get his invitation, I cannot open
the attachment. I get a windows pop up window that starts out "Windows
cannot open this file". It asks me if I want to search the web, but even
then it can't get the file open. I have never had a problem connecting with
other computers. Is there something he should be doing at his end when he
creates the invitation? As I recall, there aren't many options when you send
out an invitation.

Resolving computer names can be a DNS server problem.
