You can add my name to that list.

Okay. :)

Scroll down to the bottom - What should I add after your name?

I really don't know - perhaps just the E-Mail address and "(NZ/South
Pacific)" or similar ... but I don't want to tread on any toes, so maybe
you should see what Bam Bam wants to do before deciding.

BTW, has there been any determination of the format or wording of how the
burned disks should be labelled (by felt-pen in my case)?

Super! Email me (remove whoi) or the Pricelessware link button with your
snail mail address and I'll send you a CD.

Done !

PS It was sent from my "funny" e-mail address
as in this post.

Perhaps you could coordinate the *email* requests - and you and Bambam
could share the burning chores? Just a thought - don't know if that
would work well or not. . .

I marked PW 2004 on the disk (with a felt-tip pen). There is a black and
white cover image on the CD. I printed the image and slipped that and
the disk into a windowed envelope (that was *supposed* to be a
surprize). ;)

A *choice* of cover images in color is coming soon - courtesy of Ben
Cooper - Ben's images will be uploaded to the PL site.

Fine by me.

I'd be happy with that, although we so far have had no off-group contact.
The one in-group contact we have had drew an acid comment from one clown
in the Northern Hemisphere presuming to tell me (from the other side of
the world, if you please) how to address a fellow-country(wo)man. That
got up my nose, big time.

I'm not sure at this point in time whether Bam Bam is still interested - I
have seen no posts from her. (I think Bam Bam is a lady ¡X if not, please
forgive the presumption)

Not a lot of use to me as I only have a mono printer.

I don't mind having an email address posted on the CD web page, but not
the one that you have. :)

I just uploaded a revised CD page (the look still needs improvement -
please ignore that part for now). I put the country first - then names
and email addies. Let me know if you have any suggestions or corrections.

Multiple guess test for Susan

When you/we find 'bad' links will you

a. notify the group or burners so that we can correct the CD before
sending out more.

b. want us to do something else.

c. hadn't thought about it.

d. burn the CD as is.

d. If anything is changed the checksum will change.

and now. . .

A question for the group:

I'd like to add some info to the PL2004 CD page - the link to the
checksum I uploaded and instructions on how to use that file to verify
the CD.

The only problem is. . . I haven't a clue. :(

dvdsig.exe and dvdsig.md5 are on the CD. Is another program needed?

I would greatly appreciate an explanation of the procedure from one of
our *experts*. puleeeeeeeeeze :)

OK, I just downloaded DVDsig from here-

http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/freeware/

Opened it in my downloads folder and clicked *scan*.
Seconds later I had a file dvdsig.md5 which contains md5 sums of all
the programs in my download folder. I guess you already know this as
you've already been this far. The only other button is the *verify*
button, so I pushed that and got a message that all files were OK.
Then I deleted one file and ran verify again, DVDsig told me one file
was missing and it told me which file it was. Next I replaced my
deleted file and ran verify again and all was OK again. Then I
changed one letter in a text file and ran verify again, this time
DVDsig told me one file was bad and it told me which file it was.
So to answer your question, no other software is required to verify
the programs on the CD are correct. You just need to open dvdsig.exe
then click the verify button. As long as the dvdsig.md5 file is
available from the Pricelessware site, to verify against the one on
the CD, I think you have covered all the bases. Nice job.
Now we'll just have to wait and see what the experts say. ;)

I ran dvdsig.exe on the disk I got yesterday; verify:

Total:273 OK:273 Bad:0 Missing:0
The operation completed successfully. 273 files, 524MB, 120s

That's a very nice program!

This was using the dvdsig.md5 file that you included on the CD.

If I wanted to be certain there were no changes or corruptions in the
files on the CD I would probably:

copy the dvdsig.exe to a temp folder.
download the PL file and place it in the same folder.
run again with the PL md5 file.

I'm certainly no expert. I think this will work though.

Oops, it doesn't look like the program operates this way.

It might be necessary to use a program that compares text files, using
the official PL .md5 file and a file the user creates.

Or, it will require a CD dump to hard disk and then place the official
PL .md5 in the directory and verify.

That's about what I've concluded so far. You can compare the two
dvdsig.md5 files with a dupe checker program *or* you can copy the
PL2004 CD to the hard drive, replace the dvdsig.md5 file from the CD
with a downloaded dvdsig.md5 file and run the dvdsig.exe program.

dunno if I'm missing some easier way to check. . .

Wow, you really ran dvdsig.exe through its paces. Thanks - I hadn't done
that much testing - I know a lot more now than I did a few minutes ago.

It is a sweet little program and yours truly forgot to credit the author
- Dariusz Stanislawek. I'll add that info to the CD page. His site is here:
