Status Pricelessware.org site?

As most of us know, there are 2 Pricelessware sites:

Pricelessware & ACF: http://www.pricelesswarehome.org (Susan)
Pricelessware: http://www.pricelessware.org (Garrett)

However, Garrett's site has not been updated since September 4.
The final vote counts for the 2005 PL list were posted here in
alt.comp.freeware on November 8.

So it looks very much like Garrett's site is dead.
I see various people here still linking to Garrett's site, in their
posts and on their web sites.
To me that does not seem like a good idea. I mean, *NOT GOOD* !

Now, the site may not be dead just yet.
It may be just only 2 months late with posting the voting results and
only 4 months late with general updates.

I just emailed Garrett and asked to post in a.c.f. about the status of
his site.

I suggest that if in a week's time from now there is not a post from
Garrett that explains why it would be a good idea to keep advertising
his outdated site, people may want to start considering their options.

Susans' is Pricelesswarehome and Garretts is simply pricelessware,
please refrain from adding acf to her site without also endorsing
garretts site; i'm sure he has his reasons for not updating.

Why do you care? Do you have an agenda? No offense, but why not let
people decide on their own which site is better? I love them both.

Well, being 4 months late with general updates is starting to be a problem.
This group needs an up-to-date web reference for links, descriptions, etc.
Otherwise it's worthless.

I would think that when people feel they no longer need to link to a site
they can stop doing it all by themselves.

Hello James,

The thing is that you and others are linking to a site that appears to
be dead. If I follow your link I see a screen that says:

alt.comp.freeware Is proud to present to you... The Pricelessware list!
Clicking through, entering Pricelessware.org, I then see ......
"So without further delay, we present you with
2004's Pricelessware of the year!"

However, the final vote counts for the 2005 PL list were posted here in
alt.comp.freeware on November 8.

Garrett has always said that he would be presenting the current list.
Moreover, on Son Of Spy's site I read:
"The current iteration (and all future ones) can be found at
www.pricelessware.org "

As I said, it appears, in contrast, that pricelessware.org is dead.
I think it would be helpful to establish that as a fact.

I have e-mailed him, but did not get a reply, yet.
That could be just me, though. So you, or Son Of Spy or anyone else
linking to pricelessware.org, could help by e-mailing him and trying to
get a response.
FYI and FWIW : Garrett has been posting somewhere on the web as recently
as January 7.

Now, i did not start this thread as an anti-Garrett thread.
I am fine with two sites, provided both at least present the current
list. If I believed that there was a chance that Garrett would update
his site to present the current list , I would not have started it.

I'm no longer maintaining pricelessware.org and have no plans to do so
ever again. And I have no idea if anyone else will take it over.

Everyone take of yourselves and stay out of trouble in here.

I am sure I speak for others when I say that I hope that your other
freeware sites are and will be maintained and updated as they will
always be a valuable tool to this community.

Well it does appear that it *IS* an anti Garrett thread which is why I
and many others prefer not to have anything to do with Susan and "her
version" of the pricelessware concept. She hi-jacked the name, the
concept, and everything else along with it and convinced many to go
along with her charade. She would'nt leave well enough alone and simply
back off and let someone else take over the "original" site. Since the
split, I and many others had predicted that it would come to this. The
split was not good for the group or for freeware in general. I hope
you're all happy now. Can I say I told you so?

I am going to post as I've always posted and if you do not like it, then
simply kill file me, plonk me, or whatever is you think you have to do
and announce it to the group and then shut up already.

what's the reason for your decission after your full engagement with the

Thanks. But no more for me. I haven't been with FreewareHome and
KidsFreeware for years now, and I don't think there's a need for another
Freeware jockey online anymore, there's more than enough of those to go
around.

It's time for me to crawl back under the rock wence I came from.

No rhyme or reason would change anything. It's simply just time to put
to rest the era of the original tried and true pricelessware concept.
Enter the new era.

Besides, any reason I give would merely create a disruptive and tempered
thread in this group.

I would ask that people not continue on with this thread and load it
with conjecture and insinuations and such. It's just not worth the time
and bandwidth for such useless dialog.

Hey, it was great while it lasted anyway.
