Windows XP and Broderbund product compatibility

I have tried installing Broderbund brand Printmaster version 8 and then
Broderbund The printshop 20 on my computer. In both cases I could not see
the project I was working on except in print preview mode. My son has a
computer with XP and installed The Print Shop and used it with no problem.
Has anyone else had the problem of only being able to see the project in
Print Preview. Is there a simple procedure I am not aware of that would
resolve this. In both cases I removed the programs. The Print Master
Version 8 wouldn't even let me remove it. I had to do a system recovery to a
previous date. If you have had any problems with Broderbund and know a
graphic program that does work, please advise. Thank you.

Help, I can't get any graphics or pictures to show up when imported into
printmaster 16 same thing with printmaster 11 please help I us OS XP home
edition..
