Win XP Pro:Why bsod

*System* Recently added 1 new hardware(Logitech wireless mouse) and
have removed/uninstalled it; and 1 new software(PrintMaster Greeting Cards
for XP by Broderbund) and have uninstalled it. Older comp., moderately
o'clocked; Athlon xp on Asus a7n8x; 1 gig Kingston HyperX DDR 400 ram; 40-gb
Maxtor h/d.; dvd-burner; dvd-rom; floppy--NO problems in several years and
absolutely most stable system I've had. Running it significantly slower
than it will do. Running Legit XP Pro w/SP2 and ALL updates, both critical
and others.

*Problem and Conditions* About 3 weeks ago I began getting bsod's.
No matter whether surfing on net, typing in MS Word, looking at d/loaded
digital pictures--seems to occur whatever I am doing. Temps are fine. BSOD
says following: "STOP: 0x00000050 (0xca807952, 0x00000000, 0xca807952,
0x00000000)". Also reads "Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area". Also, "...ensure
any new hardware or software is properly installed". Next, "if problems
continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software".

*Help Needed* I searched MS with Stop-error code ( "0x50") and the 4
parameters inside the parentheses; it showed zero matches. Doublechecked
numbers (I took a digital picture of the blue screen to be sure!). Please
help. If you cannot answer, a logical direction to proceed would be joyous.

Thank you, sdlomi2

Thank you for help. I did study that site and several others linked
from that one you gave me. Learned quite a lot. Finally got the comp. away
from wife, doing Xmas pic-albums w/huge files. Ran Memtest86 & it would run
only about 10 seconds, showing 2 contiguous errors. Went into bios & slowed
down the fsb & removed a cas-3 stick of Crucial--left me w/2 sticks of
Kingston, 2.5. Fixed all the errors.
So simple once I got hold of comp. and after being sidetracked, learning
all about new stuff to me, like system viewer, administ. tools, stop-errors,
etc. No time wasted--found a bunch of stuff that would not work!!!
thanks again. sam
