BSOD STOP 0x50

My laptop has suddenly developed a terminal BSOD.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
STOP: 0X00000050 (0XCAB80000, 0X00000000, 0X8058BC1A, 0X00000000).

No hardware has changed (seems to be the biggest culprit).

No drivers were updated that I'm aware of.

Can't boot into ANY of the safe modes.

Removed the HDD and slaved it to my desktop, scanned it, chkdsk-ed it,
defraged it. No change.

Memory hasn't been changed (most likely 0x50 messages it seems). I removed
each 256mb module, one at a time and no change. Not likely that BOTH all of
a sudden are bad.

Any thoughts?

Bad/overclocked processor? Some of the laptops have a variable speed cooling
fan. When this fails, the processor may overheat, and possibly croak.
