Windows Mail unable to send attachments

Now that I have Vista and all the stuff it has, I am unable to send a pdf
attachment to someone. I also have this very same problem with Chaos
Intellect. Small attachments seem to work OK but larger ones do not. I have
checked out and alo have changed some settings in the advanced tab area which
my isp provider says will take care of the problem. That did not work either.

Can anyone point my nose in the direction of where either to find an answer
or to tell me if there is a limit size wise to what I can send?

I did not have this problem with XP Home.

If you haven't already done so, disable the option to break
large attachments into smaller chunks.

The most likely cause of this problem is email scanning by your
antivirus. Such scanning should be disabled. Also, McAfee and
Norton antivirus are not compatible with Windows Mail.
Those will need to be uninstalled and replaced with a more
compatible antivirus such as the free version of Avast.

Windows Mail does not have a size limit for sending messages,
but your ISP probably does. ISP-imposed size limits are usually
in the 2-20MB range.

Has anyone been able to find out what causes this problem? I have the same
problem. I have tried making the attachments smaller in size. Sometimes it
will send just fine and if sent again it wont go through. I have Vista with
McAfee. I thought McAfee was being to aggressive but after turning it off, I
still have the same problem. I am getting frustrated and want my XP back.

See my response which was posted 9 minutes before your post.

Turning McAfee off is not sufficient. It needs to be uninstalled completely.
