Attachments to windows mail

I have got a new PC, using Vista. I have also some problems with the windos
mail. Incoming mails are treated without problems, but when I am sending
mails with Word attachments, following message is poping up:when I push the
Send button; "The system can not find some of the files....." To come
around the problem I file the document in both doc and docx format. When I
now send the mail with those two attachements, the doc attachment will be
sent - but not the docx attachment. It is not possible to send the
doc-attachment without the docx file attached. Is this a Vista or Windows
Mail spesific problem? Is there a simple way to solve this problem?

Ensure that any document that you are attaching to email, is not open or in
use at the time you try to send.
