Windows Advanced Server SP4 update problem (boot issue)

Just updated my newly installed Windows Advanced Server
from clean install to SP4 and now blue screens at startup
with the error INACCESSABLE BOOT DEVICE

any ideas on how to fix without wiping and starting over,
or should i wipe it and not install SP4?
