I can't seem to get my USB 2.0 to work. I've run Windows update both with
the device plugged in and without. I've also updated all the drivers from my
motherboard manufacturer's site. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Does your mainboard support USB 2.0 ? or your device is just USB 1.1?
You may find it out at first!

The board does support it. In fact, it says to try one of the six USB 2.0
ports. The thing is, I only have six ports which, according to the
manufacturer, are all 2.0 and are enabled in the BIOS. The thumbdrive is 2.0
also.

I have exactly the same problem at a similar M/B (P4S8X). Did you find any
solution?

No, it is a VIA chipset. The board is an ASUS A7V8X-X

I have the same problem. I have a MSI 648 Max (SiS 648 chipset).
Everytime I plug in a USB 2.0 device, Windows tells me that I have
plugged a Hi-Speed device into a low speed port.

It then goes on to tell me I have 6.0 USB 2.0 (Enhanced Host Controller)
ports available. But I am still unable to get my USB2.0 device to function
at 2.0 speeds.

I would gladly like to find a solution to this.

I have WinXP SP2.

I tested my USB2.0 device on my Dell Laptop running Win2000 SP4 and had
absolutely no problems
