USB 2.0 card problems

I purchased the Adaptec Duoconnect USB 2.0 card to add USB 2.0 capability
and the problem is that I cannot connect any device to it. Under Device
manager the card shows fine and under properties the message that the device
is working properly is there however I have connected a variety of devices
to test it and nothing! They do not even show in device manager as
connected. My OS is Windows XP Home and it is up to date with all patches.
I have installed the drivers that came with the card from Adaptec. I would
be grateful for any suggestions or help on how to resolve this.

Thanks

I had a similar experience with my Buslink 2.0 card.
There are 2 was to install the card. One way is to
install the hardware first or, install the drivers
first. I had installed the hardware first and was
recognized but not functional. I uninstalled the
hardware, used the CD to install the drivers first, then
the hardware and is now working. So if you installed the
hardwdare first, try uninstalling and install the drivers
first. The manual for the card recommends installing the
drivers first.

Thanks so much for the help. After posting my question I tried something
else basically I removed the Adaptec drivers and let windows install the XP
drivers for Enhanced Host Controller (I hope that means USB 2.0?) and now it
seems to be working fine however I shall monitor it and if I still have
problems I will follow your advise.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback and you mentioned an SP2 update. I have SP1
installed but I do not think I have SP2. Is it out already?
I appreciate your feedback

Good. Yes, that means 2.0, Some of the makers drivers for USB 2.0 do
not work nearly as well as the ones native to XP SP1
