unread items on status bar Outlook 2003

Is there a setting to enable the display of unread items on the status bar
like in Outlook 2000?

The status bar will show the total number of items in the folder. The
number of unread items should display in parentheses to the right of the
folder name in the Navigation Pane, typically.
 
Yes, but this user (vp) was just upgraded from Outlook 2000 which had unread
items displayed in the bottom status bar and would like to also have it setup
in Outlook 2003. Any ideas? Thanks.

Outlook 2003 doesn't present that data on the Status bar.
