outlook 2003 status bar not indicating unread mail count, why?

outlook 2003 statys bar only indicating total counts of mail with the folder
selected and not indicating the count of unread mails, but outlook 97
indicates total and unread mail counts. how to make outlook 2003 to show the
count of unread mails for the selected mail folder, please advice

You can't. The only indication in Outlook 2003 is the blue number behind the
folder name.
