Unread mail (number) next to mail folder

Kevin

Hello,

I have a user who has rules setup that move email upon arrival into the
inbox to other folders. Previously, when a new unread piece of mail was
moved into another folder there would the the number of new unread messages
displayed next to that folder for instance:

Project (8)

Currently, when new unread mail is moved, the indicator number of messages
does not display and the folder is not BOLD.

The user would like to see the folder BOLD and the number of new unread
messages displayed....

Suggestions to solve/fix this issue are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Kevin

Review the message rules to ensure the option to mark them as read is
not enabled.

Version of Outlook?
Type of account?
Does it display when the user selects that folder?

If so, and you are using Exchange, then it is quite likely that the local
firewall is blocking UDP traffic between Outlook and Exchange.

Outlook 2003

And yes it does display when the user selects that folder.

Do I just need to open that UDP port on the firewall? and of course..which
UDP port is it?

Thanks,
Kevin
