I receive this message when I click OK to compact mail. I use TrendMicro for
security and have the Scan In/Out mail turned off. Also, at times Windows
Mail doesn't shut down, I believe because of this problem. The Mail window
closes and I show nothing in the Task Bar but it does show in the Task
Manager under Applications or Processes or at times both. If this occurs and
I don't notice it, when I shut the computer down I get a Can't read Memory
error and I have to close Windows Mail before the machine shuts down. To
complicate this even more, I have a few games, that when I try to launch
Windows Mail starts also. This is becoming very annoying can someone help?

An update to Trend Micro several months ago has caused it to
become incompatible with Windows Mail, thereby joining the
unfortunate McAfee and Norton gang.
Uninstall Trend Micro, reboot, then try Windows Mail again.
If there is improvement, download and install a more compatible
antivirus like:

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.
