Task Bar not hiding inactive icons

I haven't changed any settings yet suddenly the inactive icons are all
showing on my taskbar. I have tried reapplying my settings and that hasn't
corrected it. I have also tried unlocking the task bar then dragging the
left line for that section, but it doesn't drag. How do I fix this?
