Systray Volume Control not working properly

The Volume Control icon no longer makes sound (Ding) in
the taskbar. Is there a setting to look for? Is there a
Key in the Registry that may have been deleted by another
program?

I have the same problem, how do you make it default for
all users so it works for the user i log on as.

Also, what will your fix work with multiple computers, all configured the
same? Not only does the volume not work, but the sounds and multimedia does
not work either. These are new out of the box Dells running win2000 with all
patches and service packs installed. The part that really annoys is that
only two out of the five that were installed have this sound problem.
