Help - Volume control

Hi - Why does the volume control keep disappearing from my taskbar?

When I go to Control Panel -->Sounds, The 'Place volume control Icon in the
taskbar' is still always ticked, so I untick --> apply retick --> Apply & it
reappears only to disppear sometime later.

In Taskbar Properties --> Customise, the volume control is set to 'Always
Show'.

Something else you load or run is turning it off. Do you play any games that
have sound?
Delete or don't run one thing at a time till you find the cause.
