You will probably have to go to the bios on boot-up (usually press 'del' or
'F1' to get to bios setup to turn off setting "Wakeup on Modem" in one of the
obscure settings pages. If you are not comfortable going to the bios get help
from the company or computer store that sold computer to you.. or better yet,
get a computer geek (like me, lol) to help you. Good luck!

I don't want to interfere with what smileski told you, but also check your
FAX Software to see if it is setup for Auto Recieve, if so change it to
manual.
