I have a Canon 9900f scanner.

Sometimes it just stops in mid-scan and
throws up a "check connection" error message.

Would this be a problem with its buffer?

Also: when I try to operate the scanner from
Photoshop CS2 I gat a "twain" error saying I
should "put the scanner into the Windows
System folder" and it does not say how o do
this.

Please help.

Check the Canon site for an updated twain driver to install. I would in any
case, uninstall the existing twain driver and re-install as if a new
installation for the scanner.

Also, just for GPs, unplug and plug back in both ends of the cable from the
scanner to the PC. A long shot, but it makes sure the connections are
reliable.
