runtime error in outlook

When trying to start Outlook I am receiving the following error.

Runtime error: Program:C:\Program Files\microsoft\office10\outlook.exe
This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information".

Outlook won't launch. Any suggestions what I do to fix this?

I have viewed the answer you gave to Randy. But it couldn;t help in my case.
When I type "Outlook/Safe" in the Run dialog box, it says the file cannot be
found.

Now what should I do?

If you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook disable this
integration and try again.

Note that you omitted the space and extension;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe
