Removing XP and installing 2000

I recently installed win xp only to find out that my soundcard is not
compatible, so i would like to go back to win 2000 but can't figure out how?

If your souncard is compatible with 2000 chances are its compatible with XP
Have you looked for updated XP drivers for your sound card on the manufacturers
website??

Thing is I was upgrading from Win ME because i recently got an ipod which is
only compatible with Win 2000 or XP. So if what you say is true then win
2000 will be equally useless with my soundcard (i have looked for updated
drivers to which there are none). I however still would wish to try win 2000
and therefore need to format to install....ugh

Seeing as you cannot go backwards with OS yes you will need to format the whole
partition to uninstall XP and then install 2000.

How about getting a new sound card. They are pretty cheap.
