I think I would try to use a systematic troubleshooting
plan. Open the control panel and then Printers and Faxes.
There is a troubleshooting link on the sidebar.
Look at the device manager for ports and printers to see
what is listed, there may be a problem shown and there are
more troubleshooting functions.
1. Does the network work in all other respects? Or is the
printer your only network item?
a. Are all ports enabled in the BIOS? b. Are all the cables
tested? c. Will the printers do a self-test? Some
printers may have an internal test that can be done with out
a computer being connected.
2. Delete all printers, then install one and make it work.
This means you need the latest XP drivers for that printer.
3.Then install one other printer.
4 Then install another.
