Epson XP-3150 not printing

Hi everyone. New to the boards and helping my daughter sort out a printer problem. Hope you can offer advice.

My daughter bought composite printer cartridges for her Epson printer. After fitting the cartridges, her printer recognised they were not official and stopped printing. She then bought official cartridges , fitted those and the printer still won't print.

What course of action would you suggest. I wondered whether the print heads needed a clean to remove any excess, or dried on, ink (not tried this but just wondered if this could be a contributing factor)

With this info can anybody offer a solution?

Cleaning is always the first step, especially if not much printing has been done recently.
Use the Epson utility for that.
