Is it possible to capture and save a particular frame of a .pps file?
I have only the viewer capability.

I would ask a PowerPoint newsgroup.

Try playing with Windows' built-in screen capture. Get the image you
want on the screen and hit the PrintScreen key on the upper right of
your keyboard. That will put an image of your entire screen on the
clipboard. You can then paste that image into any program that will
take it (try the free Irfanview, www.irfanview.com). To get only the
active window, use ALT + PrintScreen.

Use Openoffice.org and its "Impress" program should allow you to do this.
