Powerppint viewer 2003 (pps files sound)

My PC crashed in September. I'm running XP SP2. Powerpoint viewer '03
(can't get '07 to run with XP SP2). I had several PPS files that had sound
associated with them. One is "thesimplelife" with I AM ALIVE. I have tried
to re-download it, but still can't get the sound to play. I also have a few
other new ones as well that have music associated with them , but can't get
the sound to play. Someone mentioned copyright laws that forced the sound
to be removed, which I doubt.

I have checked my sound program (Realtek) and all seems okay. No problem
with any other files, just the PPS files.

Any suggestions.

OpenOffice did the trick. I now have the music back in my PPS files.
