Strange problem with opening PPS file

O

oldad

When I get a .pps file attached in e-mail and try to open it I get:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel"

However if I save it to the hd, usually My Docs then when I click it, Power
Point viewer opens it wth no problelm.

In Folder options it shows .pps file opens with Power point Viewer

Any advice as to why this only occurs with emaill attached pps file but no
problem opening when saved to different location?

Thanks in advance

Added: I should have said that these pps files are all Power point Slide
Shows
....and all PowerPoint questions are better serviced on the PowerPoint
newsgroups.

Please follow the flow of conversation. Changing to top posting after the
thread has been bottom postings makes your question harder to follow- some
people won't try.

Your welcome. Sometimes it is worth looking at the obvious before you post
