Partially Received

I have Windows 2003 Server and Exchange 2003 running. I have four US
Robotics 33.6 external modems sending and receiving faxes.

Every night I receive "partially received" faxes from one of our vendors and
on occasion I will receive the same status on a couple of others. The one
that I receive every night is coming from I think a RightFax program because
that is what it says in the TSID column.

The Event ID is 32034. The event log is as follows:

An incoming fax could not be received due to a reception error. Only part of
the incoming fax was received. Contact the sender and request that the fax be
resent. File Name: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax\Queue\1C4D1F3B6A681.tif. From: RightFax.
CallerId: . To: K&M Tire. Recovered Pages: 8. Total Pages: 9. Transmission
time: 0:03:50. Device Name: U.S. Robotics 33.6K FAX EXT PnP.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Has anyone experienced this and found a way to fix this? I may "drop"
upwards to 14 to faxes a night from this one vendor when it should just be
one big fax. Instead they have to keep resending it sometimes 14 times
before we finally get it.

Thanks,

Jason Baker

This is a known issue with US Robotics modems. Is it a very old modem?
You could try using some other brand of modem. To see the list of supported
modems go to :

Did you ever resolve this issue? I'm having the same issue - using 4 USR
Courier USR3453B modems - which were suggested as one of the best modems to
use with Microsoft Fax - by a Microsoft Fax team member.

About 30% of our incoming faxes result in "partially received" or some type
of receive error. I've already decreased the speed on all modems to 9600.
USR also suggested changing the Fax Class from 1 to 2 or vice versa.
