I realize there are many posts about Outlook 2003 crashing, but I cannot find
something that addresses this topic.

If I open Outlook 2003 where there are no accounts setup (pop3, etc...) it
works just fine. However, as soon as I add a new account, it crashes and
wants to startup in "safe mode".

What is causing it to crash? I have setup a new profile and a new .pst file
but this does not fix the problem.

As a side note in case it matters... Originally I had Outlook 2003 installed
and decided to upgrade to 2007. Since I have not been happy with the 2007
version, I uninstalled Outlook 2007 and reinstalled Outlook 2003. This is
when the problem started and the app crashes. Please Help!

Thanks
Craig

I will quote a fellow MVP (Neo):

"Uninstalling Office/Outlook 2007 will most likely leave behind
a newer MAPI32.DLL that is not compatible with Outlook 2003.
All you have to do is rename/delete said file @ \Program Files\Common
Files\System\MSMAPI\<LANGID> and then do a detect repair
of Office 2003 and you should be good to go."

Do you have any Comm add ins?
And if you start OL using the Safe switch is it then OK?
