Networking a Win2000 pc with a WinXP pc

I have just bought a new pc with XP on it and want to copy
across all my data from my win2000 machine. I'm using
TCP/IP and have it set up as normal.

The Win2000 pc can ping the XP machine but can't net view
or use network drives. The XP machine can't even pint the
2000 machine??

Any ideas?

well, i knwo before i could share files etc, i had to
creat a user for the other computer, as u gunna use yer
new one more, make a user on the xp machine of the same
name of your 2k accound, with same password too.

not only way, but simplest!!
