multiple numbered heading formats

Converting text without numbered paragraphs to one with a numbered outline
format with Heading1, Heading2, etc I now find that some paragraphs appear to
be formatted with one of the 8 layouts on the Outline Numbered tab but other
paragraphs are formatted with a different one of the 8 layouts, but the
arrangement of 8 layout options on the Outline Numbered tab also appears to
change between the paragraphs.

How do I get one consistent format for my paragraph numbering with Headings?

Not sure if this will help/work but try selecting them all and pressing [Ctrl
Q] to reset the paragraph style settings.
