Logon Screen

I'm a new user of XP and when I start my computer it now
goes to a logon screen which says...Owner and I have to
click on that for my computer to finish booting up and go
to my desktop. I have never had to do this before and is
there anyway to bypass this screen and not have to logon
everytime I start my computer since I'm the only one that
uses it.

1) Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.

2) Type in the following: control userpasswords2
now click OK

3) In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the
primary logon.

Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.

4) Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the selected
users password.

Click OK when you are done!

And that is it!

The changes will work the next time you reboot your computer.

This tip is OK if you are the ONLY user of your machine... If there are
other folks who want to use your PC then this allows them straight into your
account!

Hi. I was having the same problem. If you go to your
start button, and chose run. Type "control
userpasswords2", and then click ok. You can then chose
whether you want to enter a password or not. I just
found this today, so my guess is it will ask you for a
new password after a certain point. Good Luck.
