Windows XP Logon screen

my wife was given a lap-top, but it has a logon screen, I tried to go into safe mode but it also has a logon screen from the company she was at, is there a way I can bypass this? Thank you in advance

If she was given the Laptop they would have removed the password before handing it over?

Does the laptop have a product key on the bottom somewhere ? If so find an XP install disk and do a fresh install. Even if you can reset the password you are going to have to do a fresh install because the domain logon will still be there
