i have a laptop with windows xp professional. after windows start the laptop
just stop and none of the strat-up program (like the antivirus for exemple)
start.
i am abroad for work and i don't have any reboot disk, is there a way to
reboot my laptop? i have checked on the support website but i just found how
to make reboot floppy disks but i don't have floppy disk reader on my laptop.
there are important files on the laptop that i need to recover.

To "reboot" a computer means either to shut down and restart the
operating system (warm boot), or to turn the computer off and then back
on using the power switch (cold boot). Neither action requires the use
of any CDs or floppy disks. What are you really trying to accomplish?

The symptoms you so briefly describe can be ascribed to several
different causes, so we'll need a lot more information before we can
offer any useful advice. It may be that your user profile has become
corrupted and all you need do is login using the built-in Administrator
account and create a new user account and profile, after first renaming
the old one. Then you'd be able to copy files from the old profile to
the new profile.

thanks for the answer. sorry but i am a noob about computers.
i am already logging in as administrator, i am afraid. how do i change
account to log in?
the laptop started to work quite badly in the last days, sometimes while i
was using it (for exemple using excel or word) it just stop working, it was
like freezed, and I had to restart it. Today it did it 2-3 times in half an
hour and now immidiately after i log in only the desktop appear and the
laptop stop working.
I think the reason can be that i run avast and i found a system file
infected by a virus and i just deleted it, maybe it wasn't a smart move :(
since then it got worst and worst.
