Errors on shutdown

I get several errors on shutdown, usually involving multiple instances of
IEXPLORE.EXE not shutting down (although none appear to be running anyway).
Occasionally the offender is IreIKE.EXE, and sometimes various others.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Internet Explorer a few times; no help. There
are no unusual entries in the event log. Norton SystemWorks finds no
registry problems.

Any ideas?

Try disable the third party plug-in

1. Open IE.

2. tools->Internet Options.

3. On the advanced tab, uncheck the box "enable third party browser
extension...".

Thanks. OK, I'll try that.

But what would it be? I haven't installed any browser extensions that I'm
aware of, unless that includes things like QuickTime and Acrobat Reader. But
even then, I haven't installed anything out of the mainstream on this
machine. And I keep hijackware off too.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't help. I'm getting something about a
memory address could not be written to. I doubt that there's actually a RAM
problem, because everything else works fine except shutdown.

Any other ideas?
