DVD Regions

I travel a lot in different countries but now my laptop
is telling me that I can't change regions for DVD's
anymore. Why is there this ridiculous restriction and
how do I get rid of it? Thanks ... Barry

There is a very nice bit of software called DVD Idle that allows you to get
round this problem without modifiing the firmware http://www.dvdidle.com/
Very very good software, as for regions its very silly especially when
companies such as pixar do thing like release finding nemo 6 months later in
the uk than the USA when u can get the dvd for regions on by that time.
Basically they want to be able top control what films u buy and when so they
can relase a film in the usa region 1 cheaper than in region 2 eurrope
because they know the american will not buy it if they charged the same as
they do in europe.
