DVD region problem

Hi there,
I have Windows XP Home Edition. I have recently changed my DVD region from
region 2 to watch an American DVD. I still have 1 change left, and yet when i
try and change the region back to region 2 it comes up with the message:

Unable to update region setting. Please make sure the drive contains region
2 media and you have administrative privilege.

I have tried several of my region 2 dvds and i am the only user and
administrator of the computer.
Any help would be much appreciated,
many thanks

Hi:

I found two leads in news of Google that you can check:

http://groups.google.ie/group/micro...update+region+setting&rnum=1#f199d8b4b369e980

http://groups.google.ie/group/micro...update+region+setting&rnum=2#ba41d862216649cd

Apparently you still have one chance to go back to region 2. I suggest you
to first use a problem to see how many changes you made and how many left.
May be yopu can try:

http://www.remoteselector.com/driveinfo.htm
http://www.visualdomain.net/

From there, if you are unable to change the region, instead of change the
firmware, becuase of legal issues etc, etc., the risk of trash you DVD
Drive, I reconmmend to use a programs to avoid the detection of the region,
told in the news from above.

I hope it helps.
