iam using dvd shrink it tell me that drive region mismatch! dvd shrink
cannot open this disc unless you change the region code of your dvd drive,
current drive region 2. your drive allows you to change this region 0 more
times
and will not allow me to change it at all
thanks

You're copying copyrighted production movies from a region,
the software is sold to comply with copyright law.

I don't think you can change regions unless you are copying
DVD movies from another region.

A little research on Google does have info on "DVD region
codes" and depending on where you live and what your laws
say, you may be able to re-flash the DVD firmware or make
other changes to your drive or software. This may be legal
in some places and get you jail time some other place.

It also says that not only movies but games are coded.

The region for DVD use can be changed 5 times maximum in XP. After that
you're stuck.
Open device manager, click the plus next to DVD/CD rom drives. Right click
the DVD and select properties. One tab will indicate DVD region. There you
will see the same information.
The purpose of region code is copy protection which evidently worked in this
case. The region code for the U.S is region 1. Commercial movie DVDs sold
within a region only have that region code on them. They cannot be played
on a DVD player setup with another region code.

DVDshrink can't read the DVD data due to the region code mismatch.
Therefore, cannot duplicate the data region free or the original region.
There are hacks around the DVD region codes. But, the author meant this for
inhouse copy of purchased media that already is playable for the user, not
reproduction theft. Which is highly suspect in this case.
