Your dvd drive could be damage if it is,nt playing or burning disc.

What software are you using to burn a disc?

Nero 7 is a good one or try google.com

pc specs means : What pc are you using?

Tell us what software you are using to play dvd and burning?

im using nero 7

last night i downloaded media player classic and now my dvd's work in the dvd drive

the only problem left is the cd-r drive...i want to download my photos onto disc

i tried this morning and it recognised that i had a blank disc in and asked me what i wanted to do,i proceeded and it said that it was burning my photos and when finished it ejected my disc...only problem that there was nothing on there.it still said that it was a blank cd.

my tower is second hand so if its supposed to have any software then i wouldent know.

thanks for replies

You could try un-installing the drivers for the drives . Turn the pc off and they should re-install aoutomatically , Its worth a try .

Hi blue am guessing your using windows xp.

To remove drivers goto the start button then setting then click control panel.

You should now have alot of icon there.

There should be a icon called add/remove click that one.

Look for the driver name and click remove.

But in the end your cd/dvd burner could be broken.

If you can try using cd-rw or dvd-rw so if your drive is broken you have,nt lost a disc.

Windows xp will say the disc is blank if not copy right.

thanks for that but i googled it yesterday and followed instructions,it didnt work.i tried again earlier and it said that the file is corrupt (nero 7) so i removed it from the computer completely.

im going to follow your instructions and uninstall the drives.

is there anything that i would be missing from the cd-r (software or something) the reason i ask is because my dvd drive didnt work until i installed media player classic and it now works....

thanks for your help and patience

If your playing dvd disc on media player it will work.

Media player today will work all dvd disc.

Try removing all parts of neo 7 then re-install it again.

This should fix your corrupt file.

just remember when your burning a cd/dvd make sure your not running any other program or logging on the net.

A dvd/cd burner will used space on your harddrive for temp files(so make sure you have a big harddrive say 40 or 80gb.

thankyou for your help, the nero 7 was not my disc though  i will have to buy one.

i tried to use windows media burner today

i put a blank disc in cd-r and burned songs from the computer

it said that it was burning and showed progress

it automatically ejected the disc and said burn complete

i put disc in the computer to see if it had burned the songs onto it

and it said it was a blank disc still

i am using re-writables

Windows media is,nt the best opiton to burn disc.

There alot of free version to try out on download.com

But it looks like your burner may be broken.

Nti is a good burner and is free for 30 days from here http://www.ntius.com/cd_dvd_maker_downloads.asp

Could try it out with this software, but if you still get the blank cd thing your burner is broken.

Is your pc new then ?
