Dial-in question

Hi There,

an acquaintance of my bought a new PC the other day (windows XP Home
edition) and she wanted me to have a look at it, since she could not dial
into Internet and Outlook. After grabbing the information from the Internet
(On my own pc) from her Provider, like the dial-in number, etc...
I created her dial-in connection via control panel/Internet connections and
this worked just fine.

We are able to dial into her provider, access internet and send/retrieve
e-mail. However when we disconnect and create an email offline, and then
press the Sent button nothing happens. So I check in outlook
Tools/options/connections/advanced... and I was expecting to see the
Dial-up connection there, but it does not show it... which is puzzling me.

Should I have created the connection from Outlook instead of the Control
Panel??
I do not recall anymore how I did it on my own computer to be honest, so..
I mean it will be simple to go back and just create a new connection via
Outlook, but I just wanted to check if I missed something why it does not
show..

Thanks in advance,
Ellen

HOW the connectoid was created is not important; it works. Go on line,
then SEND. Or, if you are expecting an auto-connection, try different
options in Control Panel|INTERNET OPTIONS|CONNECTIONS. See Kelly's site,
below, for more info.

Hi Dev,

thanks for your reply. That was my thought too, that it should not matter
how the connection was created.
I will check out Kelly's site!

Thanks for your feedback!

Ellen
