IE8 doesn't connect using Wi-fi connection

I 've a dial-up connection which I use sometime use to connect to the
internet, recently I added a wi-fi connection which connects to the net
with no problem. The problem I have is that IE8 won't connect wirelessly,
everytime I want to connect wirelessly it insist on trying to connect via
dial-up. FireFox which I also use have no problem connecting. Can anyone help?

Check your setting in Internet Connections. Open IE, then click on Tools -
Internet Options. Next click on the Connections tab and mid-way down the
window click on the radio gadget net to the line that says "Never dial a
connection" or "Dial whenever a network connection is not present".

If you haven't already done so;

Start up Internet Explorer Options from Control Panel

Click on the Connections tab

Below Dial up and Virtual Private Network Settings click on Never dial a
connection.

Click Apply, OK

Start up IE in the normal way and see how you go.
