Delete imagesfrom "Scanners and cameras" in "control panel"

In need to delete the images stored into a device
connected to my pc via a USB port.

I cannot explore directly the device from the "my pc" folder.

I can "reach" it opening the control panel and selecting
the "scanners and cameras" folder, but then I can not manage the
images inside it because I can not navigate inside the device.

The only way I found to obtain what I want is using the
advanced options of searching panel:
after having found the images in the device I can select one of them
and open the parent folder into a new window.
In this way I reach the device.

I there another way to do it?

Doubleclick My Computer icon on desktop. Rightclick the specific
drive (under devices with removable storage) of your USB device
and click Explore. Highlight, rightclick entry and click Delete.

I don't have the rest of your thread available for viewing (defining
"thread" as the previous messages linked to this one) so if I'm off base
with this reply - my apologies in advance.

When you scan images, the results are not placed "in" your scanner or
within any representation of your scanner in Control Panel nor is the
scanner listed as a drive. Instead the files for the scanned images are
written to your hard drive. As for the where:
- If using XP's scanning software: scanned images go to My Pictures
- If using software that came with the scanner, images go to the
location configured in that software's settings.

In many cases, the user can override these default locations by using
the Save/Save As dialog boxes.

So - you don't need to find the images "in" your scanner. You need to
find them on your hard drive. You could use search and various criteria
(date the files/scans took place or file names that you happen to
remember, by file type or any other info that you *can* remember about
the files) to locate them. Once found, review them. Keep the good ones.
Delete the ones that you aren't so happy about.

Not to complicate or confuse matters but some scanner programs stash the
images from the pre-scans into various folders. Sometimes in one of the
user's temp folders but I have also seen them show up in folders
belonging to the scanner's software. These stashed files are usually
maintained automatically by the scanner software - deleting old
pre-scans and keeping only a few of the most recent ones.
