CD drive is not in "send to" list

This is a repost... my CD/DVD writer has disappeard from my "Send to" list
when I right click a file..has been there up to now...other removable devices
are there. I have made sure that the Write to tab has been checked in the
CD's properties and that "imapi" has been set to automatic.

Does anyone have any ideas a) what enables a device to be listed in the send
to list
b) conversely what would cause a device to disappear??

no, don't know why, but you can add a new shortcut. First, make sure to set
your folder view to 'see' hidden files and folders.
to do so, go to start, right click it, select explore. When that open, from
the toolbar select Tools>folder Options>view> then select to view the
hidden files and folders.

Now, back to Explore>start menu> click on that, then in the right pane you
will see all your send to items. Right click an empty spot>new>shortcut...a
wizard will pop up ..just follow the prompts.

Thanks for the reply.. your directions were spot on and I can now see "E"
drive in my send to list... however, when I send files to it, the "balloon"
comes up saying files are waiting and when I select "Write these files" or
any other CD write option, I get the critical stop sound and nothing
happens.. BUT if I ask it to write and then eject the CD, the "can't start CD
write wizard" screen comes up..an option here is to write files now. If I
close the drive and select this, all works OK????

It is like the CD write wizard fails to start itself or similar..any more
ideas?

on the drive itself, click on properties then select the recording tab and
make sure recording on this device is enabled.
what program do you use?
