Just wanting to compare notes with others...
I noticed today that I can no longer use the CD Writing Wizard with
Windows XP Pro. The CD/DVD writer is working OK - I can burn CDs and
DVDs from other software, just the CD writer has quit. I'd like to
fix it if possible as it is as handle / simple tool.
I'm assuming this started happening after a recent windows update of
XP but am not 100% sure as I only use this function infrequently.
Here's what I've done / seen...
Checked IMAPI CD Writer Server - WAS STOPPED
Started the service, attempted to write files to CD - service stopped
Checked event viewer - NO MESSAGES related to IMAPI CD Writer
Looks like the service stops when:
- I insert a blank disc
- I copy files to the blank disc
- I "WRITE FILES TO CD"
Have also tried disabling then re-enabling "WRITE TO CD" on the CD
Drive properties and changed the temp file storage disc on CD Drive
properties.
Anyone else out there reached the conclusion that this is a Windows
Update bug? Any other thoughts or input?
Thanks,
Bennie Gibson
