can not complete cd writing wizard

Hi,

Using XP-Pro SP2:

when using the cd writing wizard of win-xp, i get the error "can not
complete cd writing wizard" and the IMAPI service is stopping.

i searched google and everything i found pointed to that the CD writer
(Sony CRX230) is not competiable with SP2. i updated the latest
firmware- no change.

finally i replaced it with a new device, LG 4167B, that i use at work
and know for sure that it is supported in xp, and still the same
problem.

any suggestions (before re-installing the OS) ?

I use Easy CD Creator V8, and it works quite well with XP (of all types).
I would expect that Nero also works well with XP.
