Using registered Win XP with auto upgrades installed. Been in use for a
number of years with no real software issues. Hardware almost always loads
easily. Recognizes Mem sticks, cameras, MP3 players, etc. with no problems.
Last week I accidently unplugged parallel cable to my HP Deskjet 812C
printer. Plugged it all back in and computer could not find driver. Tried to
re-install from HP CD... get error... "software not designed for Win NT".
Tried on line software upgrade... same info, same error message. Attempted
HP scanner install, (also a parallel device, HP ScanJet 3200C), also with
orig HP install CD... same error. device driver software thinks my op sys is
win NT not win XP. How do I fix?
Thanks...
