Can I upgrade my Win XP Pro CD ???

I have a Win XP Pro CD from 2002, and not surprisingly it has issues
installing on my new dual-core machine. Is there someway to 'upgrade' my Win
XP Pro install CD such that it includes SP2 as well as presumably support for
an Intel Dual Core and USB 2.0?

Thanks for any help

The word you're looking for is "slipstream" (creating a new copy of the XP
CD that includes SP2). Autostreamer is supposed to be a convenient tool for
slipstreaming. I haven't used it personally, but instead used a more manual
technique. (It was quite some time ago, and I've mislaid the link.)

If you can find a newer copy of XP Pro of the same type as yours, I believe
that you could simply copy it and use the copy. The value of the XP license
is entirely in the installation key.

Address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn to reply.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll try the slipstreaming tommorrow, I
might also try 'borrowing' a friends copy but using my install CD-key

Cheer,
